After degrees in Philosophy and Project Management, Yiannis studied and practiced cinematography in the London Film School. Since then, he has been involved as a DoP in numerous professional productions around the world, including the UK, Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon and India.
As an image creator he strives to imbue aesthetics with meaning and has a passion for using the image to tell the story.
Whatever the production, Yiannis always strives to communicate the message non-verbally, appeal directly to the sensibilities of the audience and evoke strong instinctive responses with his images.
Yiannis was the recipient of the LFS PANALUX award for Cinematography in 2014 and a graduate of the ASC Masterclass workshop in 2016.
His first feature film as a Director of Photography, "Utopia", was longlisted for the 88th Academy awards, as the 2016 Afghanistan foreign film submission.
Yiannis is a member of Bafta Crew as well as a member of the Association of Steadicam Operators since 2017.
His work was selected for the BSC Emerging Cinematographers 2017.
Yiannis shot the Indian Feature "Namaste England" starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in 2018 and also completed 8 episodes of the Zee5 TV series "The Final Call" in 2019.
In 2020 he shot part of the historical epic series "The Empire" for Disney+ Hotstar in India.
